Province of Cuba prepared for tourist boom season

Matanzas, Cuba, Nov 16 (Prensa Latina) With more than 23 thousand rooms and 61 hotels in operation, the Cuban province of Matanzas is prepared for the tourist boom season, which began last Wednesday and will last until next April.

As reported in a press conference by the delegate of the Ministry of Tourism in Matanzas, Nastia Valdés, a total of 23,200 rooms belonging to 61 hotel facilities, of which 53 located in the tourist destination of Varadero, will guarantee the successful development of the period which attracts the largest influx of visitors each year.

Almost a thousand rental houses linked to the sector will also contribute to the reception of tourists during the stage, in which initiatives that are based on the idiosyncrasy and values of the Cuban people will be incorporated to make the travelers’ stay pleasant, she said.

According to the site www.radio26.cu, the resurfacing of the runway and the installation of lights of the first category of the aircraft approach system to the aerodrome become notable arrangements at the Juan Gualberto Gómez International Airport in Varadero, which will make it possible also to have the best services in the sector.

The airport, the second most important terminal in the country, represents a key link in the development of the industry in the country’s main sun and beach destination, as it becomes the first impression of tourists who choose the beaches of Varadero for a vacation or to rest after Labor journeys.

It is estimated that for the current tourist increase, around 700 thousand tourists arrive in Cuba through the airport and enjoy a spa city that is committed to the application of science and technology, in pursuit of sustainable tourism.
