The Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energy, Franklin Molina, confirmed that, after overcoming multiple technical and economic challenges, the plant is only waiting for the official opening.
“When I visited the plant (three years ago), there were only foundations and a shed structure where the industrial building was going to be located”, the Minister assured.
Molina stated that Yacimientos de Litio Boliviano (YLB) had to carry out an engineering review, in which it was verified that, according to the initial design, the project would not start.
This mill is located in YLB’s industrial complex in the municipality of Colcha K, south of the Uyuni salt flat, and required an investment of more than US$94 million.
