Ramallah, Mar 2 (Prensa Latina) The Egyptian Ministry of Health announced today that some 42,000 of the 48,000 Palestinians who have looked for shelter in Egypt from Gaza were treated in national hospitals.

The spokesman for this ministry, Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar, told Palestine TV that the number of injured Palestinians treated in Egyptian medical centers exceeds 3,000, to which must be added another thousand transferred to other countries for specialized treatment.

The official further said that 60 percent of the total number of admissions are women and minors. He revealed that Palestinians are treated in 86 Egyptian hospitals, both public and private.

Abdel-Ghaffar urged the international community to exert more pressure on Israel to force it to allow more medical aid into the Gaza Strip, which has been under attack since October 7.

In this regard, he noted that thousands of trucks loaded with vital goods are being held up on the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing because of the delaying actions of Benjamin Netanyahu’s government.

This week, the Egyptian Minister of Health, Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, revealed that some 10,700 injured Palestinian minors were vaccinated in Egypt against polio, measles, rubella and mumps.

Our specialists provide care to Palestinians in ophthalmology and eye surgery, intensive care, otorhinolaryngology, anesthesia and orthopedics, among others, he said.
