Interviewed by Prensa Latina, the director of the French Alliance of Cuba, Alexandre Guillochon, informed that 11 embassies of French-speaking countries represented in this capital are participating in this event, in addition to numerous Cuban cultural institutions.
He stressed that this is an opportunity to celebrate the diversity and richness of French-speaking cultural and intellectual expressions and show them to the public on the island.
He said that the inaugural concert will be at 7:00 p.m. local time at the theater of the National Museum of Fine Arts, starring Swiss-Nigerian singer and producer Afra Kane, while two special guests will arrive from France to participate in the Month of the Francophonie: Xavier North and Fréderic Dumond.
Guillochon said that six concerts will be held during the festival and film screenings at the Napoleonic Museum in Havana, at the Victor Hugo House, and also in Santiago de Cuba.
He mentioned that also in the Victor Hugo House, in Old Havana, the history of France will be portrayed through comic strips and philately in different activities, another of the activities included in a program designed for participants of all ages.
The director of the Alliance Française de Cuba pointed out that guest Xavier North has managed the French linguistic policy for a decade and is scientific curator of the permanent tour of the International City of the French Language, inaugurated in 2023 in the castle of Villers-Cotterêts.
The 19th Francophonie Summit will take place there this year, an event that has not been organized in France since 1991, he said.

Comienza en Cuba Mes de la Francofonía
La Habana, 3 mar (Prensa Latina) Música, cine, artes visuales, historietas, exposiciones, importantes invitados y más trae el Mes de la Francofonía, que transcurrirá en Cuba desde hoy hasta el 28 de marzo, con actividades en La Habana y Santiago de Cuba.
Entrevistado por Prensa Latina, el director de la Alianza Francesa de Cuba, Alexandre Guillochon, informó que en este evento participan 11 embajadas de países francófonos representados en esta capital, además de numerosas instituciones culturales cubanas.
Destacó que se trata de una oportunidad para celebrar la diversidad y la riqueza de las expresiones culturales e intelectuales francófonas y mostrarlas al público en la isla.
Adelantó que el concierto inaugural será en a las 19:00 hora local en el teatro del Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, protagonizado por la cantante y productora suizo-nigeriana Afra Kane; en tanto desde Francia llegarán para participar en el Mes de la Francofonía dos invitados especiales: Xavier North y Fréderic Dumond.
Guillochon precisó que se realizarán seis conciertos durante la festividad y proyecciones de películas en el habanero Museo Napoleónico, en la Casa Víctor Hugo, y además en Santiago de Cuba.
Mencionó que también en la Víctor Hugo, en la Habana Vieja, a través de la historieta y la filatelia en diversas actividades se retratará la historia de Francia, otra de las actividades marcadas en un programa pensado para participantes de todas las edades.
El director de la Alianza Francesa de Cuba resaltó que el invitado Xavier North ha manejado la política lingüística francesa por una década y es curador científico del recorrido permanente de la Ciudad Internacional de la Lengua Francesa, inaugurada por en 2023 en el castillo de Villers-Cotterêts.
Allí tendrá lugar este año la 19 Cumbre de la Francofonía, evento que no se organizaba en la nación gala desde 1991, significó.
