Argentina hosts international forum on fascism

Buenos Aires, Jul 5 (Prensa Latina) Analysts, legislators, academics and writers will participate in the 1st International Forum "Fascisms in the 21st Century from the Global South," which will take place in the capital of Argentina on Friday and Saturday.

On the first day, the event will feature the participation of political scientist Atilio Borón, philosopher Rocco Carbone, lawyer Paola Renata Gallo, sociologist Jorge Elbaum, and the lawmaker from Unión por la Patria, Victoria Montenegro.

Lectures and debates are scheduled for Saturday at the Madres de Plaza de Mayo National University.

Among the topics that will be addressed are the relationship between 20th century fascism and its new forms; the current expressions of violence against the peoples; the organizations of the popular field, resistance and the construction of alternatives. Identity and the processes of subjectivation at the intersection between fascism and neoliberalism will also be analyzed.

Among the institutions that will be represented are the Movement for Peace, Sovereignty and Solidarity among Peoples, the League for Human Rights, the American Association of Jurists, the Federation of Argentine Palestinian Entities, the Association for the Unity of Our America and the Network of Artists and Intellectuals in Defense of Humanity.

Members of the Association of Missing Ex-Prisoners and the Autonomous Workers’ Union will also attend the forum.
