In Neiva, the capital of the southwestern department of Huila, the participants will refer to 108 events that occurred between 2005 and 2008, in which 200 murders were perpetrated, including 32 cases of forced disappearances and eight attempted homicides, according to the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP).
According to the source, the crimes were perpetrated by members of the 26th Infantry Battalion Cacique Pigoanza, the 27th Infantry Battalion Magdalena, the 11th Urban Special Forces Group, and the 9th Brigade.
Among those who will acknowledge their crimes, there are 28 top officers charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity who have already accepted their responsibility in written form.
Also participating in this hearing will be more than 140 victims, who have been involved in both the judicial and restorative processes implemented by the JEP.
