Fidel Castro is remembered in Moscow eight years after his death

Moscow, Nov 25 (Prensa Latina) Workers of Cuba's state mission in the Russian Federation today paid tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, on the eighth anniversary of his physical departure, Prensa Latina reported.

At the commemoration, presided over by the ambassador of Cuba in Russia, Julio Garmendía, the young diplomat Adrián Rivas, on behalf of the new generations, recalled the imprint of the leader of the Cuban Revolution in each of the most important sectors of the country.

The laborer, Ernesto Castillo, said that Fidel Castro was the architect and guide of the work of the country’s diplomacy since the first years of the Revolution. He also spoke of the simplicity and modesty that always characterized the revolutionary leader.

Castillo recalled the speech of the Commander in Chief at the University of Havana on November 17, 2005, where he expressed the dangers that from within could lead to reverse the socialist revolutionary process.

Afterward, those attending the ceremony watched the documentary “Fidel told me one day”, by journalist Mylenys Torres, who said it was based on interviews with doctors and scientists who worked with Fidel developing these sectors in Cuba.
