“Once again, Argentine State institutions arrogate to themselves spurious powers of a judge in the region, issuing illegal and unusual orders against governments legitimately elected by popular will, under the pretext of the principle of universal jurisdiction,” the integration bloc indicated in a statement.
It pointed out that it already did so against Venezuela, another member country of the Bolivarian Alliance.
The ALBA-TCP strongly rejected “the erratic decisions of the Argentine judiciary, which only undermines peace and stability in Latin American and the Caribbean, disrespecting the sovereignty of peoples and the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of States.”
At the same time, it expressed its support for and solidarity with the government of reconciliation and national unity of the Republic of Nicaragua, led by President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo.
