“A dignified people, who save lives around the world with their army of white coats, cannot continue to be blocked,” the organization said in a statement greeting the Government and the people of Cuba for their victory against the measure revoked last week, which caused serious damage to Cuba’s economy.
The Focep described as “spontaneous, emphatic and repeated” the clamor of governments from Latin America and the Caribbean and the world and political, social and religious organizations, which joined the demand to the United States to remove Cuba from the State Sponsors of Terrorism (SSOT) list.
The Focep also demanded the end of the programs of interference, disinformation and discredit against Cuba, financed by Washington with tens of millions of dollars from the US federal budget.
It also considered it desirable that the new occupant of the White House, Donald Trump, open up to talks with Cuba to lifting of the blockade.
