In a statement, they warned that this action is intended to intensify sanctions against the island that has been suffering an economic, commercial and financial blockade for more than 60 years.
The organizations reiterated their condemnation of the over five decade criminal practices by the United States against the Cuban revolutionary process.
“We stand in solidarity with the working class of Cuba in their struggle for autonomy against the backdrop of a fierce persecution that is expressed through the infinite number of economic, social and political punishments that make up the nefarious blockade of US imperialism,” they said.
They stressed that they are certain that the Cuban revolutionary process, as so many times in its history together with internationalist support, will be able to resist and overcome all these imperialist attacks.
As he signed yesterday his first executive orders, the US president reinstated Cuba to the unilateral list by which the island is subjected to other sanctions.
Cuba denounced today that Trump attacked the island without any grounds and that his measures demonstrate the aggressiveness of US imperialism against the sovereignty of the people.
“The decision to reestablish the iron-clad economic war measures against Cuba, which his predecessor eliminated only days before, is a demonstration of the aggressiveness of US imperialism against the sovereignty, peace and well-being of the Cuban population,” stressed a statement from the island’s government.
