The news was released by the National Institute for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (Ingd) of Mozambique, which said that the deceased lived in the districts of Memba, Angoche, Mongincual, Moma and Mossuril, in the province of Nampula.
Dikeledi caused torrential rains and strong winds, and caused damage to 129 schools, 44 health centers and some 67 kilometers of roads that were rendered impassable, as well as to the electricity network.
The storm also left three people dead in northern Madagascar, where more than 7,000 people were affected, before reaching Mozambique.
Last December, another cyclone named Chido caused at least 120 deaths and almost 690,000 people affected as it passed through northern Mozambique.
