The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) stated that 653 vehicles entered the territory on Thursday, totaling 2,053 in the last five days.
The UN body noted in a statement that the data are based on figures provided by the authorities from Israel, the United States, Egypt, and Qatar, the guarantors of the ceasefire deal.
UN agencies, many NGOs, and several countries have denounced in recent months the Israeli blockade and systematic attacks on the coastal enclave, which have created an unprecedented humanitarian crisis.
According to the United Nations, at least 500 trucks a day are needed to provide food and essential goods to the Strip, but only a tiny fraction has entered that territory since the conflict began 15 months ago.
OCHA, the World Food Program (WFP), and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) have repeatedly warned of the threat of famine in the enclave.
