Bolivian department assemblyman demands sanctions against terrorists

La Paz, Jan 27 (Prensa Latina) The department assemblyman of La Paz Juan José Rúa today described as “terrorist” the shooting attack against the Official Residence of Venezuela in Bolivia carried out the day before, and demanded the capture of the perpetrators.

“I demand that our authorities mobilize to find those responsible for the act,” he said, condemning “vehemently” this violent action.

Rúa recalled in a note delivered to Prensa Latina that the Venezuelan minister Diosdado Cabello warned in his space Con el Mazo dando (With the Hammer Giving), that the right wing of that country prepared attacks against the diplomatic missions of the Bolivarian State with the objective of showing instability.

He added that, however, the only thing they show is violence and resentment.

“The youth of La Paz will be on constant watch, both at the embassy and at the Official Residence of Venezuela, to prevent these terrorist acts from happening again,” concluded the departmental legislator of La Paz.

In relation to this violent action denounced the day before by the Bolivian foreign minister, Celinda Sosa, the Bolivian Movement of Solidarity with Cuba expressed its support for the Bolivarian Republic and its legitimate government headed by president Nicolás Maduro.

Likewise, the activists reiterate their solidarity support for the diplomatic staff of the embassy in the Andean Amazonian country in the face of this action which they describe as Terrorist.

“We cannot allow this type of fascist criminal acts, which is why we reject any type of aggression that affects members of the diplomatic mission (…), says the statement to which this news agency had access. The solidarity movement warns that this type of crime violates international law, the sovereignty of peoples and must be investigated until the guilty are found so they are held accountable before justice.

The text recalls that the peoples of Bolivia and Venezuela are united by very strong ties of mutual friendship, strengthened over many generations with the aim of building a more just and peaceful world.

“(…) We face the same enemy that seeks to impose imperialism everywhere in the world, for which reason we reaffirm our full commitment to justice, self-determination and the sovereignty of the Venezuelan people,” it adds.

The text calls for unity among all peoples of the world and reject “all types of fascist and terrorist acts that seek to create conflicts between peoples (…)”.

Finally, it calls for an energetic mobilization to strengthen “unity against the onslaught of imperialism, so that they know well that the peoples of the world seek peace, justice, equality and we are determined to build the Great Homeland.”
