According to the report, heavy snowfall is expected in southeastern Inner Mongolia, central and eastern Liaoning, southern and eastern Jilin, and northern Shandong Peninsula, while in some areas snow accumulations of 20 to 25 millimeters.
Snow depths could reach 5 to 15 centimeters, and even exceed this maximum in certain localities.
Authorities advised local governments and related departments to implement measures to prevent snow and frost disasters as these occur during the peak of the Lunar New Year.
In addition, the transportation, railroad, electricity, and communications sectors were urged to reinforce the inspection and maintenance of roads, railroads, and power lines, and to carry out cleaning and de-icing tasks. Citizens were urged to take precautions against the cold and slippery surfaces, while drivers should be responsible and use equipped vehicles with anti-skid measures.
In rural areas, farmers and ranchers were advised to store sufficient fodder and prepare for possible damages caused by snowfall.
