Candidate of Citizen Revolution said they will revive Ecuador

Quito, Feb 9 (Prensa Latina) Presidential candidate Luisa González, of the Citizen Revolution (RC), went today to exercise her right to vote and said that with faith and hope "we are going to revive Ecuador."

The candidate for the head of the Executive voted this Sunday in the town of Canuto, municipality of Chone, province of Manabí, and was accompanied by supporters, as well as a strong military guard.

González said she felt very happy, with joy and hope, “because the country is going to revive” after these general elections, where Andean legislators and parliamentarians are also elected.

They are the fear, we are the hope for change, for joy, for better days to come, with employment, education, health and security, said the RC representative outside her voting precinct.

She announced that she will travel to Quito to await the results of the day in the capital and predicted a victory for her organization.

However, she criticized the National Electoral Council (CNE) and its head, Diana Atamaint, because rather than being a guardian of democracy, they have acted in favor of the president and candidate for reelection, Daniel Noboa, because they allowed irregularities and breaches of the law.

González said that her rivals are desperate and that is why they have launched a dirty campaign against her in the last few hours.

A total of 16 pairs aspire to the presidency of Ecuador in these elections, to which more than 13.7 million citizens are called to participate.

Noboa and González monopolize the voting intentions, according to authorized polls.

Violence, political tensions and accusations of manipulation mark a key day for the future of Ecuador, where the government defends its permanence and the left, represented by the RC, seeks a change for the country after years of multiple crises.
