This investigation covers the period 2021-2024, when Lisperguer went from having one real estate property to owning nine, most of them in the department of Cochabamba, as reported on January 15, when the president, Luis Arce, made public his dismissal. Additionally, economic movements for more than one million Bolivianos were identified, which involved deposits from other people, including some public servants.
According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Lisperguer presented documentation proving the acquisition of the assets in his name, which, it is presumed, were acquired before his term as minister.
“It would be a question of the same real estate, a mother company, which was divided in eight apartments and that would be for sale and anti-crime, transferred to other people. It is for this reason that these amounts of money would have been paid or transferred,” prosecutor Cardozo said.
According to Lisperguer, the goods were acquired in a legal way and the economic movements are related to legal transactions.
The Prosecutor’s Office, however, will continue investigating to verify the origin of the resources and the legality of the operations.
