The collaboration on migration was among the issues they addressed on Thursday, under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) inked between the European Union (EU) and Egypt.
The document stressed that Meloni and El-Sisi exchanged views on the current situation in the Middle East, and stressed the need to continue working for stabilizing and reconstructing Gaza, to resume a political dialogue to achieve a fair and lasting peace in the region.
The Italian head of Government praised Egypt’s efforts to implement and maintain the ceasefire deal in the Strip.
Meloni also acknowledged Cairo’s role in ensuring the delivery of aid to Gazans, who are facing a humanitarian crisis due to the Israeli attacks that have killed more than 46,000 people, as stated by a report published on the Sky TG24 website.
