The show, which the public will also be able to see tomorrow, but at 5:00 p.m., includes, among other pieces, Lucile’s pas de deux, by Johan Kobborg, and End of time, by British choreographer Ben Stevenson.
Also on stage will be the piece El peso del instante, with choreography by Pontus Lidberg and music by Aldo López Gavilán; Ballet 101, by Eric Gauthier; and the Grand pas de Paquita, a classic work by the outstanding French choreographer Marius Petipa.
This Sunday, the BNC gala will pay tribute to International Women’s Day, March 8, and to the memory of revolutionary leader and fighter for women’s rights Vilma Espín, on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of her birth on April 7.
From March 7 to 9, the prestigious Cuban company will present Alberto Méndez’s Después del Diluvio; the Grand pas de Paquita and, indistinctly, the pas de deux El corsario, El talismán, El mercader y la Esclava, Diana and Acteón.
During those days, Stevenson End of time and Esmeralda pas de deux pieces will be accompanied by the Alicia Alonso Symphony Orchestra of the Gran Teatro de La Habana, and conducted by Maestro Idalgel Marquetti.
