The head of Cuban diplomacy noted on X that the resources destined for military purposes must be redirected toward the economic and social development of peoples.

According to the United Nations, weapons of mass destruction, and in particular nuclear weapons, remain a concern due to their destructive power and the threat they represent for humanity.

The excessive accumulation of conventional weapons, as well as the illicit trafficking of light and small-caliber weapons, put peace, international security and sustainable development at risk.

At the same time, the use of other explosives in populated areas represents a serious danger to the civilian population.

This date seeks to promote greater responsibility for and understanding of these issues, with special emphasis on young people.
