An Italian Foreign Ministry’s release stated that the meeting, being held at the Lombardia Palace, is dedicated to the private sector and is part of ground-laying actions for a conference on this issue to be held in Rome on July 10-11.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, and National Institute for Foreign Trade (ICE)’s Director General Lorenzo Galanti, attended the conference.
The meeting, which brought together representatives of more than 500 Italian, Ukrainian, and companies from other countries, also included Lombardy Region President Attilio Fontana; and Gert Jan Koopman, Director General of the Enlargement and Eastern Neighborhood of the European Commission (EC).
Representatives are assessing the participation from business and financial institutions in reconstructing Ukraine. To this end, working sessions have been held on investment and business promotion, involving executives from business associations, development banks, and studies centers.
The source added that the main areas of interest included energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, and critical raw materials, among other sectors.
