Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian described those accusations as groundless and counterproductive to bilateral relations.
The United States filed a lawsuit against 12 Chinese nationals accused of involvement in cyberattacks, including the alleged intrusion into the US Treasury Department in 2023.
Lin Jian strongly opposed these accusations, which he described as groundless, and demanded Washington to stop immediately what he called “the unlawful practice of imposing indiscriminate sanctions.”
The spokesperson recalled that, in December 2024, Chinese cybersecurity agencies revealed two recent cases of cyberattacks conducted by US intelligence institutions against technology companies in this nation.
According to Lin Jian, these actions prove a “US hypocritical double standard,” which he described as “the world’s biggest hacker empire.”
