The text, published simultaneously in the French magazine Le Grand Continent and the Brazilian newspaper O Globo, bears the signatures of the President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, and the presidents of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, and Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
On the occasion of three important events in 2025, Sanchez, Ramaphosa and Lula da Silva called for the consolidation of multilateralism as a response to face global challenges in a bold and coordinated manner.
The city of Seville, capital of Andalusia, will host the IV International Conference on Financing for Development from June 30 to July 3.
Then, in November, the COP30 on climate change will be held in Belém, Brazil, and at the end of the same month the G20 summit will take place. For the time being, it seems unlikely that the United States will participate in these three meetings, at least with top-level delegations.
In any case, the three dignitaries, in their joint statement, said this is “a crucial year for multilateralism” and a unique opportunity to chart a path towards a fairer, more inclusive and sustainable world.

Madrid, 6 mar (Prensa Latina) Sevilla, Johannesburgo y Belém, tres ciudades que acogerán importantes citas este año, quieren proyectar su compromiso con el multilateralismo, según un artículo difundido hoy.
El texto, publicado de forma simultánea en la revista francesa Le Grand Continent y en el diario brasileño O Globo, lleva la firma del presidente del Gobierno de España, Pedro Sánchez, y los mandatarios de Sudáfrica, Cyril Ramaphosa, y Brasil, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
A propósito de tres relevantes eventos de 2025, Sánchez, Ramaphosa y Lula da Silva, hicieron un llamado a la consolidación del multilateralismo, como respuesta a enfrentar los desafíos globales de forma audaz y coordinada.
La ciudad de Sevilla, capital de Andalucía, será sede del 30 de junio al 3 de julio de la IV Conferencia Internacional sobre Financiación para el Desarrollo.
Luego, en noviembre se realizarán la COP30 sobre cambio climático en Belém, Brasil, y a finales del mismo mes la cita cimera del G20. De momento, parece poco probable que Estados Unidos participe en estas tres reuniones, al menos con delegaciones de máximo nivel.
De todos modos, los tres dignatarios valoraron en su escrito conjunto que se trata de ‘un año crucial para el multilateralismo”, y una oportunidad única para trazar un camino hacia un mundo más justo, inclusivo y sostenible.
