The Government Media Office said in a statement that the latest fatality was journalist Alaa Asaad Hashem, who died yesterday of wounds sustained in an army air raid.
We condemn “the attacks, assassinations and deaths of Palestinian journalists by the occupation’, the institution stressed, urging the international community to stop “the systematic crimes against media professionals.”
It also held Israel and its supporters responsible for the lives of journalists and other media workers in the coastal enclave.
A week ago, the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate denounced the murders of its members.
Palestinian women journalists paid a high price for broadcasting the truth and denouncing the extermination war against their people, the union said in a statement on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
Last year, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization awarded Palestinian journalists covering the conflict the Guillermo Cano Prize in recognition of their work.
