In a report, this UN agency highlighted that in the last two years it reported the displacement of more than 2,000 Palestinians in the West Bank due to the aggression of Jewish extremist groups.
From March 4-10 alone, OCHA registered 16 incidents involving Israeli settlers that resulted in casualties, property damage or both.
In that period, 51 Palestinian structures were also demolished, including 17 funded by donors, “due to the lack of Israeli-issued building permits, which are almost impossible to obtain,” he said.
OCHA also criticized the Israeli army’s offensive against the north of the territory, which led more than 40,000 people to flee their homes since last January.
The military operation is the longest in the West Bank since the early 2000s, it said.
OCHA noted that since January 21 at least 74 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli troops, most of them in the governorates of Jenin, Tulkarem and Tubas.
It highlighted that among the fatalities there are eight minors and two women, in addition to three soldiers.
The also cited the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, according to which “the deaths increasingly demonstrate an alarming disregard for the lives of Palestinians, with a high prevalence of extrajudicial executions.”
