The meeting between the Russian and U.S. delegates is ongoing behind closed doors at the Russian Consulate General in Istanbul. According to a statement from the Foreign Affairs Ministry, the talks will focus on issues related to the functioning of the two countries’ diplomatic missions.
The Russian ambassador to Washington, Alexander Darchiev, who has been in Istanbul since Wednesday, is leading the Russian delegation. The U.S. team is headed by Sonata Coulter, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Russia and Central Europe.
