The military statement, published this Saturday shortly before the declaration of the truce for Orthodox Easter, states that as a result of decisive actions by units of the Southern Group of Forces, the village of Shevchenko in Donetsk was taken under control.

The Ministry of Defense’s statement also adds that the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 365 soldiers, two tanks, eight armored combat vehicles, including a Humvee armored personnel carrier and a US-made M113 armored personnel carrier.

Thirteen automobiles, seven field artillery pieces, four of them manufactured by North Atlantic Treaty Organization countries, a US HIMARS multiple rocket launcher, and two ammunition depots were also destroyed.
