This center could address issues related to the sustainability of international trade, Dmitry Bulatov, president of the Russian Union of Food Exporters, told the outlet.
To achieve this, BRICS experts must develop a Global Code of Conduct for global food markets for countries participating in international trade, Bulatov added.
The president of the Russian Union of Food Exporters explained that this document should enshrine principles that promote the stability of international trade in agricultural products, the elimination of existing barriers, and the expansion of access to food for people in needy countries.
Bulatov also emphasized Russia’s important role in ensuring global food security, stating that the country ranks first in the world in wheat exports and is one of the largest suppliers of grain.
The expert noted that the productive and export potential of the Russian agricultural sector is far from exhausted, demonstrating the potential to further strengthen Russia’s role in addressing global food challenges.
