India publishes sketches of alleged perpetrators of attack

New Delhi, Apr 23 (Prensa Latina) Indian security forces today released sketches of three alleged perpetrators of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which caused the death of 26 people and several injured, according to reports.

Authorities said the portraits were created with the help of survivors of what the government considered one of the worst terrorist attacks in recent times.

According to the local press, the Resistance Front (FRT), a group associated with the Pakistani Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), banned by Islamabad, claimed responsibility, but this has not yet been confirmed by the authorities, meanwhile, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh ordered the country’s armed forces to remain on high combat alert.

The ANI news agency stated that additional troops are being sent to the region to carry out search operations in order to arrest those responsible for the attack.

“For now, Delhi Police, along with Punjab and other regional forces, have heightened security across their cities with particular focus on major tourist hubs and border checkpoints.”

On Wednesday morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held an urgent high-level meeting after returning to the country in the early hours of the morning from Jidahh, after interrupting his state visit to Saudi Arabia due to the attack.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Donald Trump and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni were among the dignitaries who condemned the terrorist attack and expressed solidarity with India.

United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also condemned the attack, and Muslim World League Secretary-General Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa met with Modi in Jiddah the day before and expressed his deepest condolences for the victims.
