The UN official explained that this goal is intended to be achieved through a comprehensive and coordinated process with the Islamic Emirate (Taliban government), thereby achieving Afghanistan’s full integration into the international community and the interim government’s adherence to its international commitments.
The head of UNAMA also described as crucial, the objectives of two working groups, one combating drug trafficking and the other on the private sector. She also highlighted the importance of the active participation of all Central Asian countries.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Emirate has repeatedly called on the United Nations to provide the necessary groundwork for formal engagement with the international community and to hand over Afghanistan’s permanent seat in the UN to the Islamic Emirate.
