In an interview with TASS on Thursday, Shoigu said, “Our position is directly influenced by Washington’s actions in this sphere.” Shoigu added that at present, US citizens have warranty periods expiring for certain kinds of nuclear warheads, and the development of new weapons is in full swing, which may push Washington to resume nuclear testing.
The senior official noted that Russia can follow its example as a reciprocal step, and assured that its Defense Ministry and Rosatom are ready to conduct such work.
Shoigu also stressed that European countries are deploying a blatant campaign to prepare for a war with Russia.
He stated that Western political and military representatives want to be ready for a confrontation as early as 2030.
