Spanish police releases 38 sexually exploited women

Madrid, Apr 24 (Prensa Latina) The National Police freed 28 women in Fuente de Piedra, Malaga, and another 10 in Elche, exploited sexually, in operations in which several persons were arrested.

According to the Spanish National Police, 28 women were released from a club in Fuente de Piedra, and seven people were arrested, allegedly involved in a human trafficking network.

The establishment looked like a hotel and was shut down as a precaution by court order.

According to the authorities, it was transformed into a sort of prison for the victims, who were forced to work as prostitutes in subhuman conditions because of their debts to the criminals.

It was reportedly stated that an international network, with Spanish and Colombian participation, was dismantled.

In the case of Elche, the National Police released 10 women after dismantling a network of sexual exploitation and cocaine trafficking, thanks to an anonymous denunciation.

They were forced into prostitution under coercion and subjected to a regime of constant video surveillance, control, and forced drug use.

The two operations concluded that most victims were of South American origin.
