The National Fire Department entered the Russian Embassy on Saturday night in the capital’s Pocitos neighborhood to inspect the diplomatic headquarters for a possible outbreak of fire.
A communiqué from the Fire Department informed of the alert ‘due to smoke concentration inside the Russian Embassy, located in Bulevar España and Ellauri’, after receiving a call from 911.
The beginning of the fire with a great concentration of smoke was located at the second floor level of the building, affecting approximately 35 square meters in rooms destined to offices, the report detailed.
The source added that “the situation was quickly controlled by firefighters, avoiding its propagation to other sectors.” No people were injured.
