About 13,000 participants will take part in the civil-military parade, which will be attended for the first time by representatives of the armies of China, Laos and Cambodia and will be attended by more than 20 international delegations, including three high-level delegations, four ministerial-level delegations and more than 15 political parties from different countries.

In addition to ground troops, the parade will feature squadrons of helicopters and Su-30MK2 fighter jets flying over the southern metropolis in formation and flying the flag of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the national ensign.

The more than 50 blocs that will participate in the official celebration, scheduled for 06:30 (local time) on April 30, include units of the Armed Forces, the Police, self-defense units and workers, farmers, intellectuals, businessmen, and women and youth organizations.

As announced by the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry, the celebrations will be attended by the general secretary of the People’s Revolutionary Party (PPRL) and president of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulith, and the leader of the People’s Party and president of the Senate of Cambodia, Hun Sen.

Also present will be, among others, the foreign minister of Tanzania, Mahmoud Thabit Combo, who will begin a three-day official visit here today.

The celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the National Reunification Day began in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon liberated on April 30, 1975) on April 19.

In this context, a special art program ‘The Fatherland Full of Joy’ and a concert entitled ‘Symphony of Peace’ were held, which were attended by VCP General Secretary To Lam.

During his stay in the city, the Party leader held a meeting with war heroes, generals and outstanding officers who attended the Ho Chi Minh City Campaign, the military operation that opened the era of reunification, peace and development of the country 50 years ago.
