This was announced by the ministry in Beijing in a statement, which also highlighted that the cooperation instrument creates opportunities for the exchange of students, professors, and researchers.
The planned actions will include scholarships, double-degree programs, virtual and in-person mobility, and the strengthening of institutional capacities through the International Experts program of the Colombian Institute of Educational Credit and Technical Studies Abroad.
According to Rojas, the agreement strengthens Colombia’s connection with the world, “so that more young people can access cutting-edge knowledge and enhance their transformative potential in their territories.”
The Memorandum is valid until 2028, without committing direct financial resources, but it enables the execution of specific arrangements for the implementation of exchanges, mobility, and other forms of collaboration, the released statement detailed.
The higher education institutions involved in the accord are: the South China Agricultural University, the Tianjin Institute of Technology, and the Beihang University.
Rojas is traveling to Beijing as part of the delegation accompanying President Gustavo Petro, who is participating in the Fourth Ministerial Meeting of the Forum between China and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).
