Under the theme “Africa’s Faith Communities in Advancing the Sustainable Development Goals, the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the G20 South Africa 2025 Process,” the two-day event seeks to strengthen partnerships to accelerate development and inclusive cooperation.
The annual forum serves as a platform to promote interfaith and intercultural harmony, fostering unity in diversity across the continent.
According to the Inter-Religious Council of Ethiopia (IRCE), the United Religions Initiative (URI)-Africa and the G20 Interfaith Forum (IF20), the event’s organizers in partnership with several African Union institutions, the deliberations and outcomes will contribute to the upcoming G20 Interfaith Forum by positioning African voices at the center of global dialogue.
Renowned for its long tradition of religious coexistence and tolerance, Ethiopia will share its unique experiences with participants from across the continent.
The conference brought together representatives from several sectors, including religious and traditional leaders, interfaith and faith-based organizations, members of the diplomatic community, policy makers, NGOs, academicians, civil society from Africa, and beyond.
