According to information published here, the exemption will be extended until May 31 next year and will also benefit Brazil, Argentina, Peru and Uruguay.
Citizens of the five countries going to Beijing for business, tourism, exchange or family trips for up to 30 days will not need visas for entry.
The news comes a few days after the working visit made by the Chilean President, Gabriel Boric, to the Asian country, where he met with his counterpart, Xi Jinping, and participated in the ministerial summit between China and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States.
Both parties signed agreements on economic matters, sanitary control, media and publications, among others.
China is currently Chile’s main trading partner and bilateral trade increased from US$ 8 billion in 2005 to more than US$ 58,8 billion in 2024.
