Nicaragua strengthens public health system with modern minibuses

Managua, May 16 (Prensa Latina) Nicaragua is reinforcing its public healthcare system with the introduction of modern minibuses. These will ensure patients can get to specialized medical assessments.

On the eve, the new Minister of Health (Minsa), Ofelia Villalobos, delivered the transport units to the 19 facilities of the Local Comprehensive Health Care Systems (Silais) operating in Nicaragua.

The minibuses, whose investment amounts to 22.7 million córdobas (more than US$ 600,700), will also be used in the mega health fairs organized by the health authorities in various parts of the country.

They will also be used to transport essential medical equipment, facilitating attention to the population in different parts of the Central American nation, according to the web portal El 19.

During the dilivery ceremony, the Minister of Health highlighted the ongoing commitment of the Sandinista government, led by co-presidents Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo, to maintaining an active healthcare system in Nicaragua.
