Secretary of State Or Vandine emphasized the importance of vaccination against Covid-19 in accordance with MoH guidelines to prevent infections.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Vandine urged Cambodians to get vaccinated to mitigate the risk of a possible increase in cases, noting that the vaccines will be available in public hospitals and health centers.
She stressed the need for proactive vaccination for everyone, especially for those most at risk, such as the elderly and people with pre-existing medical conditions, ahead of any potential outbreak.
She added that the Pfizer vaccine is expected to be widely available at local health centers and state hospitals in Phnom Penh and all 24 provinces.
She also warned against underestimating the risk of a resurgence of the disease and emphasized the principle that “prevention is better than cure.”
Last week, the MoH announced new protective measures against Covid-19, aiming to raise public awareness.
