Under the theme “Resilient Communities and Healthy Environments: An Employment-Intensive Investment Program (EIIP) Approach”, the event, organized by the Urban and Infrastructure Ministry, the Ethiopian Road Administration, and the ILO, will run until May 23.
Policymakers, planners, practitioners, and global researchers are participating in to exchanges of ideas on policies and programs which promote decent jobs and sustainable livelihoods in Africa.
ILO Director-General Gilbert F. Houngbo, Ethiopian Minister of Labor and Skills Muferihat Kamil, Women and Social Affairs Minister Ergogie Tesfaye, and Planning and Development Minister Fitsum Aseffa feature among the speakers at the conference.
Also included are ILO Assistant Director-General and Regional Director for Africa Fanfan Rwanyindo, and Martha Phiri, director of the Human Capital, Youth, and Skills Development Division of the African Development Bank Group, among others.
Ethiopia hosted the 17th ILO Regional Seminar from November 13-17, 2017, under the theme “Delivering on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): The Employment Intensive Investment Approach.”
