The routes now for sale are currently administered by the state-owned company Corredores Viales, a corporation that would cease to have any use in the new system in charge of the operation and maintenance of the National Road Network.
According to the resolution published on Monday in the Official Gazette, the government claims that it pursues the objective of “promoting greater competition, generating greater transparency and trust and achieving better results for users”.
With this, it is preparing to enter the second phase of the Federal Concession Network (RFC), which will affect the province of Buenos Aires as well as Santa Fe, Córdoba, San Luis and La Pampa, according to the news channel C5N.
The eight sections to be privatized include the Ricchieri, Ezeiza-Cañuelas, and Newbery highways, as well as national routes 3, 5 and 7, and the routes giving access to the Paraná ports, around the city of Rosario and its surroundings.
The hearings were scheduled from June 11 to 13, and interested parties must register from now on through a free and freely available form provided by the government agency Vialidad Nacional.
