The health crisis caused by the distribution of contaminated Fentanyl in Argentina is worsening every day, the MinutoUno news service reported this morning, adding that Judge Ernesto Kreplak is investigating the responsibilities of the company HLB Pharma.
According to the report submitted to the courts, the deaths are due to the administration of the anesthetic in hospitals and sanatoriums in the provinces of Buenos Aires, Santa Fe, and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.
The case began with an alert from the Italian Hospital of La Plata in mid-April, where it was discovered that Fentanyl ampoules produced by the laboratory HLB Pharma contained two dangerous bacteria: Ralstonia pickettii and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
Both are resistant to conventional treatments. The victims received the drug while intubated or in intensive care units, resulting in fatal infections, reports MinutoUno.
