This time the attack occurred over the weekend in localities of Katim-Lamido, in the state of Taraba, according to the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
The attackers killed people and burned their homes, according to CAN officials who deplored these criminal acts that terrorize the north of the African country.
Dominic Hassan, community leader of Karim-Lamido, also confirmed the fact and affirmed that the groups were armed with guns and other weapons, and arrived on motorcycles at dawn.
Official media added that in the last 16 years, inter-community clashes and attacks by Islamist groups have displaced more than two million people and killed thousands of civilians in Nigeria.
Local authorities also point out that these attacks are often related to the activities of groups such as Boko Haram, which collect taxes from fishermen and farmers, and when they are unable to pay, they kill or kidnap them and then demand ransom from their families.
In northeastern Nigeria, several armed factions are active, taking advantage of the lack of security in the region for their profit motives.
