In a meeting held on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) 2025 Summit, the two leaders discussed strategic cooperation, mainly through the ASEAN-GCC-China Summit.
“We focused on key areas such as economy, the halal industry, trade, transportation, green energy, and artificial intelligence technologies,” Anwar wrote on the social media platform X.
The Malaysian prime minister thanked China for its support of Malaysia’s modernization efforts and highlighted the solidarity of the Global South.
“This collaboration will benefit Malaysia, China, and ASEAN, fostering regional economic growth,” he added.
Li arrived in Kuala Lumpur to attend the opening of ASEAN-GCC-China Summit, which will be held this May 28 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, in coincidence with the Second ASEAN-GCC Summit.
Such summits serve as strategic platforms for advancing regional and interregional cooperation.
