“We reject the use of disinformation and intimidation by international actors to discredit a true expression of the will of the Venezuelan people,” the National Assembly (parliament) member told the press.
Rodriguez emphasized that the Bolivarian Republic reaffirmed “its commitment to democracy, people’s sovereignty, and institutionality.” The electoral process was transparent, inclusive, and met the standards that govern democratic principles, as confirmed and verified by more than 400 international observers present in the country, he stated.
He expressed his understanding that the massive participation of the population demonstrated confidence in the Venezuelan democratic system and “in the project of social justice and progress that we have built with effort and dedication.”
The president of Parlatino-Venezuela urged the international community to respect Venezuelan sovereignty and support the people’s efforts to consolidate democracy, rejecting any attempt at interference that seeks to undermine the stability and autonomy of the Republic.
