The senior diplomat noted that in this practical way of withdrawing excess nuclear material produced by Iran, Moscow could cooperate in the positive development of the negotiations between Washington and Tehran, something it is already doing at a political level.
Ryabkov pointed out that doubling efforts to achieve at least a palliative pause in the problems related to the sanctions regime against Iran and finally reach a comprehensive solution is necessary at the moment.
Iran and the United States held the first round of indirect talks on Iran’s nuclear program on April 12, and they have already held five. The sixth meeting will take place in Oman on June 15, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ismail Baghaei announced on Tuesday.
During the previous meeting, held in Rome on May 23, disagreements between the parties flared up when the special envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff, stated that the White House was seeking a complete halt to uranium enrichment by Tehran.
