Since the so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” began operating on May 27, the Israeli army has bombed and fired daily at Palestinians trying to reach distribution points, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) criticized.
The institution noted that more than 410 people died as a result of this campaign, in addition to another 93 who tried to approach the few aid convoys entering the territory.
At least 3,000 Palestinians were injured in these incidents, the Office warned.
Given this situation, it stated that “each of these murders must be investigated promptly and impartially.”
The killing of civilians resulting from the illegal use of firearms constitutes a serious violation of international law and a war crime, it stressed.
The organization emphasized that Palestinians in Gaza are suffering from hunger, caused by the conflict and the Israeli blockade.
This is compounded by the systematic destruction of local food production and the economy, as well as the repeated forced and massive displacements over the past 20 months, it recalled.
