According to a document to which Prensa Latina had access, the proposal contains more than 20 domestic initiatives that reveal Fidel’s extensive work and his strong ties to the journalistic community in the Caribbean country.
Among those initiatives is the creation of the Fidel Castro and Communication Chair, sponsored by the Jose Marti International Institute of Journalism (IPJM) in Havana, as well as other national educational institutions.
They also plan to reissue books by journalists, screen audiovisual materials, and tour historical sites, all of which show the influence of one of the most significant global figures of the 20th century, until he died in 2016.
The activities also include exchanges with young journalists and students in that career, and lectures at military institutions that reflect the influence of National Hero Jose Marti and Fidel Castro in the revolutionary Cuba.
The 4th Plenary Session of the UPEC will also analyze the progress of the experiment changing the management models of the press system in the country, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Cuban media, and the state of the infrastructure of institutions in the sector for journalistic practice.
The meeting of the provincial presidents of the UPEC took place on Thursday and was led by UPEC President Ricardo Ronquillo.
