Arce wrote on social media, “We join the call of most of the world’s countries, expressed repeatedly in the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and the United States does not consider, demanding the immediate and unconditional lifting of the blockade (…).”
Upon referring to the memorandum, the Bolivian head of State criticized that it represents a new act of aggression against the Cuban people and Government, which constitutes an explicit disregard for the principles of self-determination and non-interference.
The president adds that this document “…reinforces the violation of the human rights of a population that has resisted a criminal and obsolete economic, financial, and commercial blockade by the Yankee imperialism for more than six decades.”
The Bolivian president concludes on his X profile, “…All our solidarity with brother President @DiazCanelB and the brave people of Cuba.”
Commenting on the issue, journalist Marco Santivañez warns in El Mamore newspaper that Trump’s new reprisals, which include banning his fellow citizens from traveling to Cuba, are not only an inhumane act but also a deeply cynical one because it deepens the blockade.
