The military institution stated that nine UAVs were shot down over Rostov region, eight over the Peninsula of Crimea, six over the Saratov region, five over Bryansk, one over Belgorod, and another over Volgograd.
The Defense Ministry’s release did not specify the targets of the enemy drone attacks, nor did it report any casualties or significant material damage.
Meanwhile, the Russian national air transport agency, Rosaviatsia, informed that provisional flight restrictions have been imposed at the airports of Saratov and Volgograd on the last day, to ensure passenger safety.
Since the beginning of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, drone attacks launched by the latter on military and civilian targets in the Russian rear have become routine.
The Russian provinces bordering Ukraine, such as Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Voronezh, and the Peninsula of Crimea, regularly report shelling, drone strikes, and other attacks from across the border, forcing the population to seek shelter in safer places.
