According to the incumbent, the protection of life is an absolute priority for the authorities, adding that his Ministry supervises the operation of two humanitarian crossings linking Sweida with the neighboring province of Deraa, through which, in the past few days alone, more than 15 000 people left Sweida and about 3,000 entered.
Al-Saleh pointed out that the flow of displacement and return is taking place within the framework of the cease-fire in force since July 19, and detailed that 84 shelters have been set up: 62 in Deraa, hosting some 30 000 residents, and 22 in the Sayyeda Zeinab area south of Damascus, with about 3,500 internal refugees.
He acknowledged that the displaced face difficult living conditions, which requires maintaining cooperation between state institutions and humanitarian organizations to ensure an effective response and preserve the dignity of citizens until their voluntary and safe return to their homes.
The Syrian Civil Defense reported that 358 families left Sweida through the Busra al-Sham humanitarian corridor, while a Syrian Red Crescent convoy transferred 145 families through the same route.
